It appears your right-click menu is not set to show the menu but instead initiate the PAN command. Go into Options and try the following:

Thanks for the reply, that was the first thing I checked.
I've just been experimenting and have discovered that if I press F2 when asked for the insertion point then right-clicking does bring up the scale list as normal!
This AutoCAD installation is relatively new and I rarely need to change the view scale so it may have been like this since the instal. I may try a repair/re-instal of AutoCAD to see if that cures the problem.

Before reinstalling the software, try resetting the settings back to default. Go to Start > All Programs > Autodesk > AutoCAD 201X > Reset Settings to Default
This will reset everything including variables back to their default state as if that was your first time launching the application.

Hi @IanH5033,
Please let me know if Darin's great advice resolved the rt-click problem for you. If it doesn't, I am happy to try to find additional options.

Thanks for that - it worked.
Unfortunately, when I used the migrate custom settings wizard, having saved them when I reverted to the default settings, the problem recurred. I have had to set everything up manually including dozens of tool palettes but it's working correctly now.
