RIF. FILES TO DWG EDIT

I am using "Process Run" to insert (RIF.) into a CAD drawing.  The RIF. was created in Revit I can not determine how to erase one of the pipes so I hoping I could do this in AutoCad.  It comes into the AutoCad drawing as a block that I can't figure how to Explode.  

Does anyone know how "Explode" this drawing so that I can edit this?  

It is a 3D drawing.

I have your file open but I don't see anything in it at all. Can you verify that this is the correct file and that it has thing in it when you open it? 

When it first opens it indicates there are proxy objects but I don't see anything.

Hi John,

Sorry for the delay I was away from my computer.  I am attaching the file again.  I have since realized this was an RVT. file and most likely I need to change to an RFA..  I have not been able to do so, but maybe there is another way.

So still the same outcome is desired, I just can't figure out how to get there with the attached RVT file.  Thank you for looking at this.  I really appreciate your insight.

Hopefully you see this file.  I am not sure why the last one would not show up?

I apologize for my delay as well. In Revit, I opened your file and exported to FBX. I then imported into AutoCAD. The process seemed to work pretty well.

Is exported as a DWG file.  This seemed to work ok.  None of my exports so far have been perfect though.  For instance when I do export as a DWG it loses the data it had wile still in Revit (eg. GPM, Manufacturer, Size, ...ext.) and when I export as an RIF, when I use "Process Run" it insterts into CAD in random locations at different elevations.  

Is there a benefit to exporting as a FBX file?  I attempted to find out for myself and was not able to do this.  I was able to export as a FBX from Revit however could not insert this file into AutoCAD.  Attached are the shots from when I attempted to insert the FBX into AutoCAD.

HI @Anonymous,

When you import the FBX file into AutoCAD, it comes in as a block. Just use the Insert command to place it in your drawing. Did the drawing I provided in my last post work properly or was it missing information too?

I only ran the FBX since you indicated the export failed as a DWG format. So, to play devil's advocate, I opened your file again in Revit 2017.2 and did the export as a DWG format file.

 

It opened just fine in my AutoCAD 2017. I have attached it here for you.
