Resetting the XREF toolbar

I somehow set my XREF toolbar to be above my standard toolbar, instead of the normal floating toolbar. This takes up most of the screen and is pretty much pointless. I figured out how to close it but I'd like to figure out how to change it back to the floating toolbar. Thanks in advance!

Try to drag it from the most right side of the screen.

  • Type in LOCKUI, make note of the setting, then set it to 0.
  • Now you should be able to grab the Xref Palette and drag it somewhere else.
  • Hold the Ctrl key to keep it from auto-docking when it's near a dockable area.
  • Restore the setting of LOCKUI if desired.

Thanks for the replies! I was able to undock it using the CUI command and changing the palette setting for external references. But it was still the same shape and size, which is too large to work with. After trying a few different things, it appears all I had done was double clicked the left side of the XREF toolbar. I double clicked it again and it went back to normal. I'm still learning all the nuances of the software. Thanks again!
