Rendering issues

Hello, I'm having issues with the lighting of my render.  I can't seem to get the "sun light" to work without making the object look dark. I've attached three photos of the settings. Please help me!

Thanks ahead of time.

Hi,

please show the drawing, that gives us the possibility to see all settings, for now I even don't know the time of day you have set for rendering and if you have turned off the default lighting or not (just one of maybe 100 reasons why a renderung is too dark).

Hi,

your roof material is set to color 0,0,0, which is the deepest black. Even the most intensive light can't change black to anything else.

The changes I made to get it more light:

Set the camera view as current

Changed the "Black Targa" material to a grey color instead of deep black

Turned on Sky Background and Illumination.

That's what I get after playing with the time (for the sun position):

Is that the direction what you are looking for?

That's the right direction I suppose.  I do need the canopy fabric to be black though and have the graphics illuminated as well.

Why does the render look so much different than model space?

Hi,

>> Why does the render look so much different than model space?

Look to the time it needs to build up one screencontent, you'll never want to wait that much time when using PAN or ZOOM, so the display in modelspace is optimized for speed, not for quality.

Thanks so much Alfred!  I will continue to tweak those settings and get it dialed in.
