Removing part of a hatch

I want to remove the hatching from part of the walkway, which is squared out in blue, while keeping the rest of my hatch in place.  Is there a simple tool for erasing part of my hatch?

In addition to the TRIM command already mentioned, non-associative hatches can be adjusted by moving the grips manually.  A hatch can be made non-associative by unchecking "Associative" under "Options" in the HATCH dialog.  Any time a hatch is moved or copied without it's boundary it also becomes non-associative.
