Hi,
>> remove the Scale dropdown menu on the Viewports?
This was introduced with AutoCAD 2018, I would not know a way to hide this grip.
I personally like it, what issues do you have with that?

I actually didn't have it until I upgraded my AutoCAD to 2019.
In the older version, using the Group command on the Viewport the blue grip box appeared of which if you click & drag to move it, not only did it move the Viewport itself but also moved the "View" inside the Model Space, which to me was a very useful tool compared to now that I don't have the ability to do that, and I need to continuously use Stretch.
Short-term, I get that it's a matter of a few more clicks..
But long-term if you have copied numerous same Page layouts with 3 or 4 Viewports inside and want to move each one of them.. Being able to Group & drag is a great advantage that saves a lot of time.

OK, never did group one object to get a grip to move this object, this is an interesting thing and I understand now, that this makes a workflow you used impossible.
I don't know how often you need to move viewports, when I use grips to move objects I first select the object (as you do), then take one of it's grips (as you do) and now press one time <SPACE>, to change from grip-stretch mode to grip-move mode. That is what you need now more than before, however, just to do this you don't need to create a group now 😉
I know, it's just another way to think, and hard to change if you are trained to your workflow.

Alfred I'm a bit confused.. it's not the Viewport I'm actually trying to move, but rather change the View it shows inside the Model Space.
e.g. If I have a Viewport, and I Group it, then drag it to the right, it will show me the objects on the right in my Model Space. If I drag it to the left it will show me object on the left.
The Viewport changes to whichever direction you drag it to, almost like holding a magnifying glass over a Drawing and moving it around.
However since that doesn't work anymore, I'm wondering if there are simpler ways to change Views without having to select the Viewport Grips, and Stretch multiple times.

Wow, have not thought that way.
And I guess that is really a point that would not work any more because the new handling with the middle grip-point is more oriented to hold the center than to give it up and keep the model at that paperspace-position.
For now I don't have any idea to solve that with ootb functionality and get your workflow back.
Sorry, - alfred -
