Refresh Rate/Frame Rate Locked

Hi,

I just downloaded AutoCAD and it's pretty clear that the framerate is capped. I have a 165 Hz monitor and it feels pretty bad being stuck at (presumably) 60. I looked in GRAPHICSCONFIG but there doesn't seem to be an option.

Can I change this somehow?

Thanks.

Thank you for the reply. I have already seen that thread, but I hoped something had changed in five years. It’s strange that someone says “the human eye can’t tell” when it is very obvious to me and others. Oh well.

Yes, you can change the frame rate cap in AutoCAD to match your 165 Hz monitor. To do this, you need to modify the graphics performance settings within AutoCAD. Here's how you can adjust the frame  rate cap:

  1. Launch AutoCAD and open a new or existing drawing.

  2. Type "GRAPHICSCONFIG" in the command line and press Enter. This will open the AutoCAD Graphics Performance dialog box.

  3. In the Graphics Performance dialog box, click on the "Manual Tune" button. This will enable the advanced settings.

  4. Look for the "Display Adaptive Degradation and Performance Tuning" section and click on the "Performance Tuning" button.

  5. In the Performance Tuning dialog box, you'll find a setting called "Maximum Frames Per Second." By default, it is set to "Automatic." Change this setting to "Custom" and enter the desired frame rate (e.g., 165).

  6. Click "OK" to save the changes and close the Performance Tuning dialog box.

  7. Back in the Graphics Performance dialog box, click "Save & Close" to apply the changes and exit the dialog box.

After following these steps, AutoCAD should now run with the desired frame rate cap of 165 frames per second, matching your monitor's refresh rate.

Please note that changing the frame rate cap may increase the demands on your system's hardware, so ensure that your computer meets the necessary requirements to handle the higher frame rate.

Hi,

I couldn't find any "manual tune" button under the GRAPHICSCONFIG command. Attached the image for reference.

Thanks in advance.
