Reflection Issue

I have assigned the same material to multiple objects. One of the objects has a much lighter color and reflects light. The other does not have a reflective surface. I'm at a loss for what to do. The attached image shows what I'm talking about.

Hi,

it is normal that none planar surfaces show reflections as they have multiple angles and so the chance to see light reflected.

Planar surfaces have only one possible angle to get the light reflected to the camera. And so the chance to see light reflections on planar surfaces is quite small.

You might give the material a globel reflection of the environement (and hopefully you have environment around your object) so it does not look that matte ... or you assign a bitmap to the matieral as reflection map.
