Recent File List in Taskbar lists PDF

I am running AutoCAD 2023.1.4 (all the latest updates) and I've noticed when I right mouse click on the AutoCAD icon in the Windows taskbar, it lists not only the DWG files I last opened but also PDF files I printed or published.

I find this annoying but is there a setting for this to only display the AutoCAD DWG files?

It did not do this in AutoCAD 2022.

Thanks

Show us what you see (and where) please so we can follow along: screenshots when you get a chance.

And.. are you aware that's a WindowsOS feature? Try it on other programs that you have open and used to open many files (as well as Files Manager previous folders and more). There is probably a Taskbar Settings or hack you can do to turn it off, but I'm not needing to do that here.

I only see a WindowsOS-provided "recent" list of DWG files and DST files that I have opened with AutoCAD 2023.1.4 in Win10Pro this week: I have not imported nor created any PDFs yet so I see nothing like that.

Hi Dean,

I have added a screen capture.

This did not do this with AutoCAD 2022 - I recently installed 2023 and I noticed this.  I have Plant 3D 2023 and it is doing the same thing.

I realize this is a Windows Task bar thing but I have not seen it do this to other applications and it did this in AutoCAD 2023 right after I installed it.  I have Googled and searched the Autodesk forums about this and nothing popped up relating to this.

So I was just curious to see if anyone has seen this "feature"

Did you import or attach those PDFs into your DWG files at some point recently?
What are those PDF files to you in your projects by chance?
Or are they just totally random PDF files as are those DWG files listed?
I don't know how to replicate that here.

TASKBAR command in AutoCAD has limited abilities, you are welcome to explore it in HELP.

I no longer have or run any AutoCAD2022 software, sorry.

The PDFs were created inside of AutoCAD by plotting to PDF or using the AutoCAD Publish Command with the PDF Option.  When printing to PDF it is using the DWG to PDF.PC3 that is included when AutoCAD is installed

Got it: we use PUBLISH and saved DST files and that's what I see in my list along with DWG files. Looks like WindowsOS is being helpful whether we want it or not 🙂

I'm not seeing anything in AutoCAD to turn that on or off. Sorry.

I appreciate your time Dean - thank you.  I guess I just have to accept it as a new feature 🙄

It's not a major issue - just a minor annoyance.

I'm going to retire next year anyway after using AutoCAD since R9 and being with the company for 36 years. 😊

Congrats.

I started in R9 on DOS3.3 too, small world.
