Raster Image doesn't show up when exporting to PDF

I am creating an asbuilt and so I have a PDF of an image and then vectors on top of it. When I try to export all of this to pdf, the vectors show up but the background image does not. I have tried using EXPORTPDF and PLOT commands but neither have worked.

Please help!

Hi,

welcome @Anonymous.autodesk.com!

Is your raster image inserted with the command _IMAGE or is it an OLE-object? (select it and look to the property window, what it reports as objects type).

Or ... don't you speak about an image when you say:

>> I have a PDF of an image and then vectors on top of it

At least the same... select it and let us know which object type it is exactly.

Most common to plot issues with raster files or with some objects not appearing in plot result are:

  • the layer of the object is set to no-plot
  • the viewports are set to rendered styles or hidden or something like that, make sure they are set to "2D-Wireframe"
  • reduce the resolution of the PDF-plot device for raster content, down to 100 or 200dpi for test, if that helps you can raise the value up to failures

Thank you for these suggestions!

I checked the object type and it is a raster image, the layer is able to plot, and the viewport is set to 2d wireframe. I also tried changing the resolution down as low as possible and the image still wont show up in the PDF.

I am using autocad 2012 civil 3d if that makes any difference.

Can you try the same in a new drawing?
Do you have another PDF-printer installed in your system (like PDFCreator) and can you try to plot to that device? Same result?

If nothing helps: can you use _ETRANSMIT to create a ZIP from the drawing and the image and upload the content so we can see what you have?
