Random lines when opening drawings in 2015 LT

Hi,

Whenever we open a drawing in AutoCAD 2015 LT, it comes up with a bunch of unselectable lines.

We have AutoCAD 2007 and we are sticking with it :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa: very quick to start and does the job. However, as you can imagine, we receive drawings from Architects and in this day and age it is not the best request to ask if they can OP Save 2007 :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa: so we purchased AutoCAD 2015 LT for the single purpose of opening drawings and saving them as 2007, then work in 2007. Yes we could achieve this using convert in place from DWGTrueView but we are hoping to really like 2015 and move on, for example using its batch plot.

When we open ANY drawing in AutoCAD 2015, it comes up with all sorts of weird lines. At the beginning, I though this is a VIEWRES thing gone wrong, but it tried all values from 10 to 20000 and all the same. The lines are not selectable.

Any assitance on what could be the problem? the PC is supposed to be top specs...

Hi,

disable hardware acceleration and/or update your graphic card driver.

Also make sure you have installed the latest service pack for your AutoCAD.

Thank you, disabling hardware acceleration worked.

Hi @sharpl,

I believe this is actually caused by Line smoothing. Try starting AutoCAD using the No Hardware switch to see if that fixes the display issue. If not, please attach a sample file for me.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

LINESMOOTHING, HQGEOM (may not be in LT) and LINEFADING variables: set both to 0 (that's a zero) then REGENALL.

Your video card cannot handle AutoCAD/LT2015's added features for video display.
