Do you mean the lines do not appear on the PDF file when you view it, but they do appear on a hardcopy print from the PDF file?

If so, then perhaps the hardcopy printer needs servicing/maintenance.

It only appears on the hardcore print. The printer is fine.

"The printer is fine."

How do you know this?

Do these random lines only occur when printing PDFs from AutoCAD DWGs? (Do you make hardcopy print of PDFs from any other applications?)

Still, I would recommend running it through any maintenance procedure it offers, if for no other reason than to rule it out.

Is this an ink-jet or a laser/toner type printer?

Do those "random" lines correspond to any geometry in the DWG? (Maybe lines or edges that are supposed to be hidden? Of course, it seems rather unlikely that such an object would be invisible on the PDF yet be visible when printed to a hardcopy printer.)

Can you try changing the PDF quality (resolution) settings to see if this makes any difference?

Can you post a copy of a PDF that does this for you, so maybe we can try to duplicate the problem with our printers, or perhaps see something in the PDF that explains it?

Its an ink-jet printer from canon 1x6850. i've attached the pdf file and a picture of the issue. You can see a gray line appear along the edge and across on the that paper only. stopping in the next paper.

What are you using to open the PDF for printing?

I used Foxit Reader and then Adobe Acrobat Reader to open and print your PDF to a Brother inkjet printer. Both printed with no random lines that I could detect.

Assuming it is not a printer problem, one other thing I can suggest is to make a minor change in the print settings. For my printer, it was in Advanced settings:

Ink save setting would be in the hardcopy printer settings.

@Amalie_overgaard ,

I love your name, but

Might the lines be color 255 (so you can't necessarily see them), but color 255 is set to a dark color?

Do they show up in a plot preview?
