"Write Blocks"

Any advise to a link where I can read a brief description (and get "educated") of what is "Write Blocks" about and how to use it?

Thanks in advance.

I recently wrote an article about differences between inserted Blocks vs Xrefs where I also briefly mentioned what is a WBlock

Help about the WBLOCK command tells the story.

Thanks for the article.

Do you by chance have a link to one with information about XRefs (which has info about when these shall be "Attached" and when these shall be "Overlay", etc..)?

Thanks again.

Glad to have helped.

Attach vs Overlay:

Dwgs with Attached xrefs when get xrefed into another dwg all the attached xrefs will show up also. An example of this would be a floor plan dwg with the structural column grid xref attached. When this floor plan itself is xref into another dwg the structural column grid xref shows up also.
Dwgs with Overlayed xrefs when get xrefed into another dwg all the overlayed xrefs will NOT show up. An example of this would be a floor plan dwg with the elevation dwgs  xref overlayed for dwg coordination. You only want these elevations to show up when the floor plan is opened for editing. But when this floor plan itself is xrefed into another dwg you don’t want to see the elevation dwgs but just the floor plan itself.

Hi Paul: is there any good article about "Wipeouts"?

Thanks Paul.  Looking at it.  Wipeouts are an interesting and potentially useful thing, but complicated.  Some of you will probably agree that the Help thing of AutoCAD is not very good in explaining it and its complexities.
