"Select Color" dialog has changed

A few days ago, I noticed that color 250 is no longer the darkest of the "grays" between 250 and 254.

Ordinarily color 250 is darker than color 251.

I use these grays regularly, and - luckily - my color-dependent plot style still renders 250 as the darkest of the group, but how did it change?

254 = RGB 214,214,214 = HSL 0,0,84

253 = RGB 173,173,173 = HSL 0,0,68

252 = RGB 132,132,132 = HSL 0,0,52

251 = RGB  91, 91, 91 = HSL 0,0,36

I think 250 should be RGB 51,51,51 HSL 0,0,20, but now my 250 is RGB 101,101,101 HSL 0,0,40.

Any ideas?

Not sure where you are seeing those values.

Using Autocad 2016

250 is    RGB 0,0,0   and IS the darkest of the greys (Same as Black)

This is on my laptop (working at home today - snow days aren't as much fun as they were when we were kids). My workstation at my office doesn't have this problem, and color 250 has always been RGB 51,51,51 (AutoCAD 2014, 2013, 2004, 2002, 2000... etc.)

Hi,

it depends on the background you are using in AutoCAD.

There is white background, color index 250 shows as RGB = 0,0,0

and here is black background color index 250 shows as 51,51,51:

But it does not change by it's own 😉

Aha.  That makes sense.

However, it still irks me that mine HAS changed...

Hi,

what background color do you have assigned to your modelspace (in _OPTIONS ==> Display ==> Colors) and what visual style do you have active?

Alfred, you are a genius!

I have been working on a complex model and I changed my background color from BLACK to a very dark gray...

Once I changed back to a pure black background... *voila* color 250 is again RGB 51,51,51.

I learn something new every day...
