"Find and Replace" not working with attribute definition

Hello.

The "find and replace" command is not finding/changing text inside attribute definition anymore, it seems to me that with the right search options. "Find and replace" continues to work on other types of text.

Don't understand why, what am i missing here?

I'm working with autocad 2020 with the latest update installed. Had not tried this command with this version yet

Hi,

sorry, an attribute definition is not a replacement for text (or mtext).

It's designed as placeholder for a string/value inside the block.

You can see that if you double click that item, it does not show "TEXT" as property, the text you see in modelspace is the name (tag) of the attribute definition.

i think it's normal ... since you're looking for a tag text item under attribute definition which is hidden for AutoCAD . with those dates you are under a procedure that wait to complete to become a block attribute .

I'm confused.  Then what is this checkbox for?  Because find/replace refuses to work in my block's attributes.  [Autocad 2019]

Use the filter command and choose "Attribute Tag" then put it the value you want to "find" then 'Add to List' and then apply. Select all in your drawing. Then go to Properties and you can replace the value of those tags.
