"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" when opening program

Hello,

I've had problems with opening AutoCAD as well as 3Ds Max.

When opening, it shows "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" (Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 376.54 stopped responding and successfully recovered.)

Also, it shows "FATAL ERROR": Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0008 Exception at ddedf5edh" and the program immediately closes.

I have tried to solve this issue. I've uninstalled the Display adapters and restarted the computer and then the programs are working. But the issue comes back when I restart the computer again.

Hope you can help me,

Luiza

Check that your video card is supported here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/syscert?siteID=123112&id=18844534

Then check that your driver version is supported.

Looks like windows 8.1 is recommended as well. (Not 8).

Regards,

Hi @Anonymous,

I am sorry you are having driver issues. Have you checked to if there si a more current driver from nVidia?

Which version of AutoCAD are you running and what is your specific graphics card?  I can check for you too.

In the meantime, you might start AutoCAD with the no hardware option.
