When I click the quick selection button, the screen freeze and it takes a while to pop up the filter dialogue.

Do anyone come up with the same problem and how you solve it?

Thanks a lot.

Does it have this delay in every drawing, even a new (no-template) empty one?

You are right. It runs smoothly in empty drawings. Is there any methods I can clean up my laggy drawings to make it smooth?

Thanks

It depends.
Try this:
Take of of your laggy drawings
Erase everything from model space and delete all of the layouts.
SaveAs something else.
Does it still happen?

It does run quicker but not as smooth as a new empty file.
