Hello,
I purchased a 2019 16in Macbook Pro about a month ago off of Craigslist. The seller advertised that Macbook was spec'd to run any and all Autodesk software, which is mainly why I purchased this particular Macbook. I proceeded to a detailed checklist towards making sure that the Macbook checked out as advertised and all was well. In fact, I used the computer for about a week until I decided to perform a factory reset to wipe all previous information since I did not do so since ownership.
After reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling the iOS, I'm now prompt with a message asking for an Autodesk login. This is because the computer is registered to Autodesk under Remote Management. At first I did not have a clue as to what this meant but after researching Apple's Remote Management service, I panicked and contacted the seller which unfortunately, I'm not able to get a hold of.
Now, my fear is that I may possibly have purchased a stolen corporate property while being down $2700. As an engineering student, this one blows.
I contacted Apple and the number provided from the prompt message which I believe to be Autodesk's HQ but still no solution.
I'm aware that this probably isn't the correct area on the forum to post this but i'm hoping I can get some direction on how to resolve this matter.
Thank you,
Derrick M.
