Projecting drawing onto surface 1:1

Hello,

I am looking to project an AutoCAD drawing onto a table and I need the scaling to remain 1 to 1 of the drawing when changing files. The goal would be to have a person be able to open a file and have the files contents projected onto the surface at a 1 to 1 scale with the files dimensions. Ex. If I was to open file A an array of points would be projected onto the table at 1 inch intervals, switching to file B would show the outline of a flat part, etc.

Are there any suggestions on how to use AutoCAD to accomplish this, or a 3rd party software that can use an AutoCAD generated file?

Note that this assumes that the projector remains a consistent distance from the projected upon surface and that the file contents are not being edited in real time.

I don't think you will be able to do this with AutoCAD any way but trial and error. Project, measure, adjust, repeat...

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

I don't know of any software that could do this. I don't see how it could work as how would the software have any idea what or how far you are projecting. How would it know how far you are zoomed in or out?  You'd just have to trial and error it with the zoom on the projector as mentioned. Easiest would be to make a sample drawing with just a few lines in it that you could measure to set it up. I would make all the drawings into pdfs as you can set the zoom to 100% to keep it static.
