Projected 2d views in layout tab - changing color of lines

Hello,

I have a 3d object drawn in model space, and I went to the layout tab and created the 2d projections to used for labeling and dimensions. The 2d projection is showing both hidden and visible lines and those lines are white. Question: Can I change those white hidden and visible lines to a different color and if so how do I do that?

Thanks for any help given.

Hi,

if you are referring to the VIEWBASE command then you also find 3 new layers after you created the views:

These can be set to colors you'd like.

Hi,

>> Is there a way to set the defaults for the MD layers?

Create them with your settings in your template (DWT)

Hi Alfred I tried that by just creating new layers but when a view is created it creates duplicate layers. I tried creating some views from a model to auto-generate the layers, then deleted the views and those seem to be valid and are not duplicated. Thanks for your help!

Hi,

>> but when a view is created it creates duplicate layers

Please upload 2 drawings:

  • one with the 3D model and the layers MD... created with your settings, but without views created
  • a second dwg-file with the views created

Also please start AutoCAD command _ABOUT and show us a screenshot of that dialog.

I'm using AutoCAD OEM via a third party app called Microvellum. Files should be attached

Hi,

You have 12 layers in the drawing "model_views.dwg"

When you now create in a new layout new views ... I guess there would not be any layers added (at least tried with AutoCAD 2020 as I don't have your OEM product)..
