I'm having trouble with plotting drawings with images that are clipped and rotated.
What I want is to insert an Xref (which consists of a scanned image of a drawing). Sometimes, the drawing in the image is skewed, so I need to rotate it. After rotating, the image becomes a little bit to wide for the original paper size, so I need to cut it. I use IMAGECLIP and remove the excess parts. When plotting, the original borders of the image are used as the edges of the drawing. That means that there are white edges around the drawing, and the drawing becomes too wide for the original paper size.
A few important pieces of info:
- The dwg is plotted to PDF, which is then plotted to paper.
- Plot Area is set to Extents.
- The paper size is set to 5000mm x 5000mm.
- The drawing is cut in Acrobat Pro before plotting to paper.
- This only seems to happen when the image is rotated.
- IMAGEFRAME, OLEFRAME and FRAME settings does not seem to have an effect on the result
The reason I use these plotter settings is they make it easier for batch plotting, since I can use the same settings for all drawings, regardless of the size of each drawing. Of course, I could work around this by using individual plot settings for each drawing, but is there a way to avoid this?
I use AutoCAD Map 3D 2019 on a Windows 10 PC. I'd post screenshots, but the contents of the drawings are confidential.
