Problem with Grey 250 251 252 253 254 and their RGB Value

Hallo! In studio we have two PC with Autocad 2015 installed. Yesterday we realized that the RGB values of the "pre-set" grey (250-251-252 etc) aren´t matching! Example: for Grey 250 i have the following RGB values ( correct i think) : 51,51,51; meanwhile the other machine´s value is 0,0,0! And this works for all the grey on this machine: gray 251 is 101,101,101 and Gray 252 is 102,102,102. Pretty strange ah? Thanks for the help! Carlo

Hi,

>> the RGB values of the "pre-set" grey (250-251-252 etc) aren´t matching

This depends on the background color setting in AutoCAD, look to command _OPTIONS ==> tab Display ==> Colors.

Be also careful that 2D-modelspace and 3D parallel or 3D perspective projection can have different backgrounds.

Thank you sir! Worked properly...only one question: why does autocad have this behavior?

Hi,

>> why does autocad have this behavior?

I guess this was done ages ago when AutoCAD learned to use a background color other than black.
The intention I think is that 255 was (for black background) real white ... and now, beeing able to use white background, it had to be modified so you can see objects with that 255-white even when working with white background.
But that's only guessing.
