Problem with 4K monitors / standard monitors

Anonymous
Not applicable

Good Morning,
we have massive problems with AutoCAD 2020 connected 4K monitors.
1x 4K resolution per workstation (3840 x 2160 recommended) 1x standard monitor resolution (1920 x 1200 recommended).
If I move a window from 4K to standard (e.g. properties), it is shown oversized.
Are there any solutions or ideas on how this can be remedied?
According to our IT department, the hardware is coordinated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

It's like having 1l water and fill it into a glass with 1/4l content ... does not fit. 😉

You first need to resize the application window and then move it.

By default (and this one reason) I recommend to use same resolution for all (working) displays)

Hi,

>> its Windows problem

It's a basic, physical problem, not an AutoCAD one and also not a Windows one 😉

Ooh yes its physical problem only to point where you scale two different resolutions, after that its only Windows problem see this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3025083/windows-scaling-issues-for-high-dpi-devices, I have the same problem like @Anonymous but only to some monitors not all.

I agree with Alfred. It is a physical thing.  Do you have a custom workspace setting set?  I run a 4K main monitor with the autocad desktop on it and the palettes on the low res monitor and it is all held on a custom workspace setting in autocad.

The physical thing is cured by getting physical and tossing the old monitor and getting that new bigger screen  4K in operation which btw can be operated on a lower resolution.  IMHO

Both monitors need to be 4k, or both monitors need to NOT be 4k: that's the true solution. Find someone in the office (or your IT) to trade monitors with.

Thanks for the information.
So if multiple monitors, then all 4K or not.

Hi,

They don't necessarily have to have 4K, but it's recommended to run them with the same resolution.
