Good morning,

I use .ctb plot styles for printing drawings. I have, of course, my own plot style which I use. The problem I am having is no matter what I set as far as plot style or individual pen colours there are items in my drawing that still print in colour. These items are parts of blocks and they are all images of company logos imported as jpegs or equivalent. Could I please get some help?

CTB files have nothing to do with how images print.  to have an image print black and white it needs to be black and white.  or print on a black and white printer.

Thanks for reply, however changing the printer to print in only black and white does not change the end result. I still have images printing in colour. All other blocks, lines and text, whilst drawn in their appropriate colours, do not print in colour.

Hello @Anonymous,

Is your CTB plot style colors are all set in "Black"?

if not sure, please check your CTB. (see image 1) or Plot with Plot styles box are already checked? If not please checked then.(see image 2)

According to this article, your only option is to set the printer to print black and white.  What you are saying is that this is not working?

HI @Anonymous,

The only way to get a raster image attachment to print monochrome is to actually set the printer driver itself to print B/W. There i not a way to do this in the CTB file. What printer are you sending the print job to? [perhaps I can help you determine if that driver allows Monochrome only.

Well good morning everyone. I have managed to stop the printing in colour. After following various solutions in relation to changing from ctb to stb using CONVERTPSTYLES, CONVERTCTB, changing printer to print only B/W and modifying Options "plot style table editor". This however has created the problem that my plot is anaemic. The plotter is not low on toner. Changing line weights in plot styles table editor has no effect. I can't help thinking there is a system default that I can revert to to take iy back to where it all starts. From there I can then customise to suit my selected colours to lineweight.

These are my settings in Autocad plot. If any other of my settings could be of help I can of course provide.

I would love to get this resolved

Regards

Jeff

your settings all appear to be correct.  What I am trying to express is that it doesnt matter what your pen talbe is set to, it will have 0 effect on any raster image.  Raster images cannot be controlled by a pen table, if they are color raster images, they will print in color, if you have a black and white printer, the raster image will print as shades of grey, light colors will be lighter shades, dark colors will be darker shades.  Based on what you stated, it sounds like all of your vector (line) graphics are printing properly.
