When I plot to PDF with monochrome all the layers turn black except a layer from a generated table.

How do I make everything print to PDF with all layers black?

Has anyone seen this and how did the correct the issue?

Hi @jw7018,

Is the one layer set to an Index color 1-255 or is it set to a TrueColor? I recommend changing the color to an INDEX color and then the monochrome plot style should work. You are welcome to attach your file here so I can take a look.

I posted in regular ACAD forum as I felt this was a TABLE issue.

Attached it the referenced issue, thanks.

I think @john.vellek go it. See attached screen grab of your file. The text in the table is color 0,255,255 instead of cyan. Change all of that text to cyan and it will print black.

Correct, though I need to fix the root cause as this is coming from a table in a .DWT

I run 100's of DWG each week from this .DWT and cannot edit each table generated

if I unlock the table and change the layer "color" (within the3 DWT) then the DWG generated from the DWT does not populate & the default text in the table changes the color

 .

I just want to print PDF's in black & white

Hi @jw7018,

Can you attach your DWT file or send to me privately at john.vellek@autodesk.com?

I am happy to take a look for you.

1st shows the DWT content/data type/0,255,255 is locked

2nd shows the generated DWG content/data type/0,255,255 is un-locked

Hi @jw7018,

Per your email, it appears that the following steps resolve your issue:

  • I changed the three layers that had non-index colors to use index colors that looked similar.
  • Then I edited the Table Style to modify the data cells to use Cyan instead of BYBLOCK.
  • Then in the table that was already in the drawing, I unlocked the format of each cell, changed the color to Cyan, then I relocked the cells for Content and format.
  • When I plotted I used the Monochrome Plot Style and checked to Plot Transparency
