Printer HP 7720 not works in color

Guys, I have an HP 7720 printer, autoCAD is not allowed to print colorfully. I already posted this question in the HP Forum, I did the step by step that they asked, excluding the printer and reinstalling, it and autoCAD. Unsuccessfully. I ask them how can I change the option in vector graphics if the color option is inactive ???

Hi,

which version of AutoCAD and which version of operating system do you have installed?

Is the missing color output a result of one dedicated drawing? What happens when you create a new drawing, one line on a red layer and plot this?

What happens when you plot to "DWG to PDF.pc3" ... is that PDF file showing colors? If yes, print that PDF-file to your plotter, what's the result?

Hi, how are you? My operating system is W10 64 bit, and the autoCAD I'm using is 2013.

Yesterday I downloaded the 2017 version and had the same problem.

Using "DWG to PDF.pc3" the design is perfect, comes out colorful and in good definition.

Already using the HP 7720 plotter it comes out in grayscale at all times.

I noticed that it is the "Vector Graphics" option that is inactive and already set to monochrome.ics" option that is inactive and already set to monochrome.

Hi,

not sure if you have answered that:

>> Using "DWG to PDF.pc3" the design is perfect, comes out colorful and in good definition

And when you then print the PDF .. does that appear in monochrome or in color on your printer.

>> My operating system is W10 64 bit

HP is not the best supplier for Windows 10 drivers, try to use the universal printer driver (PCL) >>>click<<<

"DWG to PDF.pc3" is an existing virtual printer and any autoCAD ... There is no what you want, I reply that it is not pdf format the drawing comes out perfect, not colored and black on black, it must be obeying the CTB . On the HP 7720 everything comes out in gray.

Well, I use windows 10 which is the system of the present time ....

HI @Anonymous,

I installed the HP driver (OJ7720_Full_WebPack_44.3.2218.exe) on my Windows 10 computer.  I launched my oldest installed version of AutoCAD (2016).

When I set up to plot, it shows up in color.  Have you tried printing from other applications in color to this device?  Is it only AutoCAD that does not show this selection available?

Are you able to access the Color Management in the driver to see if there are entries?

Universal troubleshooting on the one hand, but none of these drivers detected an HP 7720 or an HP 3776.

Hello! This problem only happens in autoCAD. I tried to access the color configuration inside autoCAD and it appears inactive ... Do you believe it can be my Windows, I installed it recently, since I changed hard disk ... Including yesterday I installed the version of autoCAD 2017 the problem persisted. I send pictures of what happens.

Hi @Anonymous,

Are you running this printer from a server?   Can you print straight to the IP address of the device to see if it makes a difference?  The port address looks strange (from the the plot window image).

AutoCAD 2103 is not designed to run on Windows 10 so I suggest that you download a current product such as AutoCAD 2019 for testing.

Sorry, but the problem happens in 2013 and 2017. My printer is not on a server, it's on the WIFI

Hi @Anonymous

Is it possible to make an ethernet or USB connection to the printer to see if it works?

Hi @Anonymous,

It is difficult to tell from what you have shown , but can you verify that you used the same driver that I did?  I also see from HP's site that there is a firmware update  (August 201) that you check on as well.

Hi @Anonymous,

That information points to the firmware update and not the print driver.  I used the 44.3.2218 version and see the color option.

Hi @Anonymous,

Let's try this please. Download a Trial of AutoCAD 2019 and test to see if you are able to select the color option. Make sure you are selecting the system printer and not a PC3.

If you are still unsuccessful, I suggest removing the driver entirely and then reinstalling it as I have no problem accessing the color with my AutoCAD 2017.  This appears to be a Windows or driver issue.

Hi @Anonymous,

I am glad that the newer version of AutoCAD works with the driver.  If the older versions do not, you might try using the HP Universal driver to see if that helps.
