What are the practical use of AutoCAD for mechanical engineering. This question is to help student on growing their design skills. What should they learn concerning general mechanical designs

Plain AutoCAD? That's just 2D drafting on paper with pencils and a T-bar, on a computer, for mechanical engineering.
