Polyline/ Block description pop up

Hey there,

would it be possible to assign a name on a polyline or block, which could be shown on a drawing?

It should be like a tag or something. The idea is to select multiple polylines in a model and just change the descripion in the properties (left bar in the pic). I was trying to fiddle with the hyperlink but I think there is no option of display.

Any solution for this problem?

DWG attached.

Dynamic grips and 3D isn't a well working solution, SORRY.

- Dynamic Block instead of a polyline and attributes for labeling.

refering to the scale of the project this is a long term process. as mentioned I'd like to just select for example 100 lines and change the "labeling" in one go

Sorry Guys, lazy to translate this,it was just a hint to GROUPs

does it allow me to have a description to each single elemet of a group?

for example [group= "4x Movement Joints"]: 100 elements; each element has this string assigned.

How could I arrange this? sorry i am very new to AutoCAD

Associating an object with a tag that is visible in the drawing requires customization that involves either xdata or an extension dictionary to the object or the tag to create a relationship and to hold the textual info.  AutoLISP would be one tool to accomplish this.

The ability to tag and schedule objects is native to AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP.

Hyperlinks are a good way to relate views, email addresses files, or web pages that describe the item but those won't appear as descriptions in the drawing.

Otherwise, you can group objects by putting them on common layers and use the layer description. This won't create the labels you may want though. Object fields could added to report the layer names.
