Polygonal Viewport Transparency Issue

I've just discovered that Polygonal Viewports are not displaying transparency settings. Transparency can be set via layer manager and will appear fine within model and will also appear if using a rectangular viewport. But, not polygonal viewports.

Can anyone suggest if this is a bug or perhaps a setting change to fix this issue???

Cheers

Brendon

Hi,

>> Viewports are not displaying transparency settings

Can you upload a drawing that shows your issue.

The are many ways to use transparency, so it would be great to see what you mean (especially as I don't know what a viewport-transparency should result in, besides of the border of the viewport get's transparent).

I believe that he's talking about making layers transparent via the VP specific options in Layer Manager.

jherbst is correct in explaining that I am speaking of VP Transparency via layer manager.

With a fresh set of eyes and delving deeper this morning. I have worked out that in fact my issue is not directly as a result of polyagonal VP not working exactly as I have successfully made a simple solid hatch turn transparent within a polygonal VP.

My issue seems to be with an ECW Aerial image. Again, VP transparency works fine for rectangular VP's but not Polygonal VP's.

Any ideas based on that refinement to the issue?

Hi @brendon_butler,

Thank you for posting your question, and clarifying that the aerial image is not reacting to viewport transparency in polygonal viewports.

Do you have Hardware Acceleration disabled? If so, this may be a known issue.

You can either enable Hardware Acceleration or utilize the raster image "FADE" option instead of using viewport transparency.

Thank you Victoria!!

Enabling Hardware Acceleration was the answer.

Cheers everyone for your assistance!
