Point nodes missing

Colored text next to survey pointsColored text next to survey points

I have a survey drawing sent over from a civil engineering firm, and I need these nodes in order to draw up the ADA ramps. Problem is, these nodes and accompanying text will only show for a split second after opening the DWG, and then disappears. I've tried changing the node style and size, auditing and purging, had the civil firm resend it, ect. At a loss here, any help is appreciated

I opened the dwg in Map 2018 and C3D 2018 and the points do not display. I tried layerwalk too.

I see no MAP3D points/nodes either in your posted file in R2017/R2019 with the C3D OE installed.

That sounds like maybe you have something like an acaddoc.lsp file that is turning off or freezing certain Layers after a drawing is opened.  Among your attempts, you don't mention having thawed/turned-on all Layers  [and perhaps also REGENerated] after this happens.  [But I'm not very confident about that, because of others not seeing them at all in your posted file -- I haven't opened it myself.]

Hi Kent,

I've searched through all the layers, made sure everything was turned on or thawed and then regen'ed a few times. No such luck I'm afraid.

Hi @Anonymous,

How did the file get exported from Civil 3D to you?  If the engineer used an export as LAND xml they have the option to remove the points.

Capture.PNG

When I open the file I see no cogo points at all.

You might ask the engineer how they processed the file to send to you.

Hi @Anonymous,  It looks like you have it open in civil 3D in your screenshot. If you need to open it in plain autocad 2018 then you probably need the Civil 3D Object Enablers installed. If you want to open it in a version prior to 2018 you would need to use the Exporttoautocad command in Civil 3D.

Hi @Anonymous,

In the image you attached it appears that the site might actually be an Xref and that the points could be located in a separate file.

I believe that is the case. We had the survey team resend the points in a separate xref just to be sure. I can't confirm but I believe they had those points on an xref, then bind'ed it to the DWG, and it caused an error (?)  Smiley Frustrated But anyways, problem solved. Thanks to everyone for your help!
