Hi!

I have tried googling and searching the forums, but haven't found an answer.

I would like to know why my point clouds are located so much below the 0 on the Z-axis after insertion, though their Insertion Point Z -value is 0 ?

Additionally, how can I insert them to match the Z-axis 0 in the beginning?pc.PNG

Hi

You can run command _MOVE and use object snaps to move your pointcloud to whereever you like.

But from what your screenshot looks like this pointcloud looks strange, either it's a display issue or a data issue.

How does the pointcloud look like in ReCap? Or isn't it a ReCap RCS/RCP?

Hi!

Thanks, I figured the _MOVE would be one solution, I was just wondering why they dip so low in the first place.

They indeed are .rcp but I have cropped them a lot, since I do 2D drawings based on them.

TOP view picture attached.

I wonder if it is has something to do with the Z axis Origin in ReCap?pc2.PNG

HI,

Also a pointcloud can have negative elevations. In such cases an insert at 0,0,0 shows points lower than Z=0

>> I have cropped them a lot

Well, that describes the display, thanks for clarification!

Not really, by default AutoCAD works with the same Z-orientation as ReCap.

But if you think the pointcloud is rotated in AutoCAD you can use ROTATE3D (or 3DROTATE) to reorient the pointcloud.

You might also look to the import of your native pointcloud data into ReCap.

From your previous screenshot I can't identify if the pointcloud is oriented well or not.
