point cloud not plotting

There seems to be a bit of conflicting information out there about plotting point clouds.  Some say it can't be done, others say it should not be an issue.  I have a point cloud in model space and am trying to plot a portion of it through a viewport in a layout in paperspace.  Hardware acceleration is on, the point cloud was attached as a 'point cloud' and is not on defpoints layer.  I have traced on the point cloud and the autocad linework is showing up on the plot, but not the point cloud.  I get that stamp about hardware acceleration not being on, but it is.  The visibility through the viewport is set to 3D wireframe, as is the visibility in model space.  The plot preview shows the point cloud, but the pdf plot does not.  Anyone want to take a shot at this???

PREVIEW means it is possible.

Screenshots of all of your modelspace appearance, layout appears, plot and viewport settings are all something you did not include: try again? And your resulting PDF too. Someone here needs to be able to follow along.

AND.. did you try to change PDF drivers?
Try one of the DWF drivers?
other printer drivers?
