Plotting to Adobe PDF - Plot style table missing

Hi,

Can anyone please help??

I've recently updated my version of Adobe however the AutoCAD plot style table is missing when i attempt to convert .dwg to .pdf format.

I have checked in the plot style manager settings and all of the plot styles (both CTB & STB) that I use are in the folder and the path to the folder is also correct.

Please refer to the attached screenshots that might help explain the issue.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Regards, Colm

I would use the DWG to PDF pc3 plotter driver.

As for the plot style, you need to click on the "none" button and from the drop down box select the plot style you want to assign.

The problem is there are no plot styles listed in the plot style table.

Refer to the screenshot above.

Eventhough the plot styles are all saved in the Autodesk folder on my hard drive, they do not appear in the table when i attempt to plot.

Hi,

Do you mean that you don't see the CTB or STB (depending on the setting of the drawing) in the list of plot styles in the PLOT-dialog?

In that case within your AutoCAD paths the setting for plot styles is set to a different folder ... start command _OPTIONS, tab "Files" and verify the folder name with the one you showed in the screenshot.

Hi Alfred,

Yes in the drop down list of the plot style table i don't see any of the plot styles (STB & CTB files) that are saved in the Autodesk folder on my hard drive.

I have checked and verified that the path name is correct in the plot style settings and still no change...

Hi,

I have now looked again to your screenshot "ScreenShot339.bmp" and there I can see that the icons of the STB and CTB files are faded out (not full colored), so that seems for me they are marked like systemfiles and/or as hidden files, can you verify that? Because then I do understand why AutoCAD can't see them.

Hi Alfred,

You are indeed correct, the files were hidden.

Issue now resolved. Thank you Smiley Very Happy

I am having the same issue, the plot styles are listed in the file location but do not show-up in the drop-down in the Plot Dialog box. What was the solution that Alfred gave you for hidden files?

Hi,

welcome @forums.autodesk.com!

>> the plot styles are listed in the file location but do not show-up in the drop-down

Show us a screenshot where we can see that they exist (screenshot from Windows Explorer) and a screenshot which plot styles are listed in the plot dialog.

Most common is that you have to differentiate if a drawing is set to use STB files or CTB files, so only that type is listed in the plot-dialog.

E.g. if you want to make XY.CTB active, but you only get *.STB listed, then you either need to

  • create a XY.STB (command CONVERTCTB >>details<<< could be helpful)
  • or you have to convert your drawing to use CTB instead of STB, command _CONVERTPSTYLES (>>>details<<<)

Thanks Alfred, the CONVERTCTB appears to have done the trick.
