Plotting Issue with AutoCad 2000

Plotting Issue with AutoCad 2000

I've been using Autocad 2000 for basic electrical drawings on an XP machine and it crashed this week.  I have the original AutoCad disks and reinstalled fine.  When I try to install my HP 8000DN LaserJet which is on a network, the Add-A-Plotter Wizard is crashing.  I found the following online and apparently there is an AutoCad patch available:

QUOTE:

runtime error c:\program files\acad2000\addplwiz.exe abnormal program
termination

Solution
To resolve this problem, apply the Plotting Update patch
(plotupdate.exe), which you can download from the Autodesk Product
Support website. The patch is available in several languages. Be sure
you download the appropriate patch.

END QUOTE.

When this problem was originally posted the AutoCad patch was found here but it isn't linking for me...  Perhaps there is another link for downloading the patch.

Where will I find this plotupdate.exepatch for my AutoCad 2000 as until now I haven't been able to locate it on AutoCad Support site.

I've attached a screenshot of the crash report.

Any help is appreciated.  Thank you.

Thank you John Vellek for the research and Dean Saadallah for the links.  I downloaded the executable from the first link, did a VirusTotal scan and installed the patch for my Autocad 2000.  Problem solved.  My LaserJet HP 8000DN on a 20 year old Novell Network is once again happy with Autocad.

I've archived the patch on a CD in case the link disappears and somebody else has need of it.

Thanks again for your help.  It was much appreciated.

Can't find the link to fix mine - If you have it archived - I would appreciate the use of it.

I downloaded the AutoCAD 2000 plotting patch to my office desktop computer.  I'm now on an extended vacation and unable to access the patch until I return sometime later October.  If you don't need immediately, I can get the patch to you at that time.  Please advise.

The link in Message #2 above still works, you didn't really read through the previous messages did you :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa: https://blog.longbowsoftware.com/installing-plotupdate-exe-for-autocad-2000-on-64bit-windows/

You can also find it here http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/download.asp?fileID=25 (Google Search just now).

Make an effort to store and save it for future needs.

Hi pendean.  I read the solution you posted but based on instructions in the Longbow link, it requires the Longbow Conversion Tool be installed first.  I've read various reviews on this tool and found it to be costly and may not be 100% reliable.  The update I found previously was a true AutoCAD patch without the need for Longbow's Conversion Tool.  Perhaps you can verify whether or not this Longbow tool is required when installing the patch they've linked.  If it is a genuine AutoCAD patch and Longbow isn't required as per their instructions, then your suggestion is the most expedient method of solving the problem.  If you're unable to compare the hash at this time, when I return to the office I can run a comparison of both the Longbow and AutoCAD's version to verify whether or not they are the same patch.

Try the second link I also included in the last reply from me to you.

Thank you pendean.  I downloaded from your second link and ran a VirusTotal scan.  They returned 100% clean.  This appears to be the same as my original file but will do a hash comparison when I have access to my download.  I attached a screen image with your link to the download from cadforum.cz (Czech Republic).  Thanks again.
