Plotting in general

Hi,

I'm having a hard time understanding plotting drawings in ACAD 2021. I never learned it systematically. You can imagine that I'm clueless when it comes to scalling drawings/objects so they match with actuall printed plots dimensions. Having trouble determining the correct paper size for my drawings when the scale is changed.

Can someone please  direct me to a good source to learn and understand plotting?

Best regards

Just do a search on Google with the following phrase and then select video and you’ll see plenty of tutorials links

This is a bit of a packed question;

First I would say start with the correct units in your drawing. Use the UNITS command and set them appropriately.

On your layout, select type command PAGESETUP. You can modify your current page setup or create new ones depending on your needs.

In page set up, you set the dimensions that your printer uses for your paper. Change the paper size to the appropriate size, change the plot areas to layout and change the scale to 1:1.

on your layout select your viewport. Then select the scale that you need. If you want it to be 1:1 to 1, select 1 to 1.

Now when you print, your plot should be exactly the dimensions of the object.

If you dimension in paperspace it can help verify.
