HI
PLEASE FOLLOW BELOW STEPS:
1.) GOTO layout (PAPER SPACE) [to get accurate printing setting)
2.) ENTER Command as PAGESETUP [to set printable paper size]
3.) NOW YOU WILL GET PAGE SETUP MANAGER. CLICK MODIFY
4.) From page setup dialog box, select printer name as DWG TO PDF and select ISO A3 ... in paper size section, and plot area to LAYOUT. Now click OK and CLOSE.
5.) NOW adjust viewport by its fit point to paper margin. [to get model space objects on full paper]
6.) Now goto model space (MS) in layout view.
7.) Now do zoom and all. and return back to paper space (PS). [to get all model space objects on print view]
8.) Enter command PLOT and click Preview. [to print]

Did that great link from @rkmcswain get you plotting on A3? If not, please let me know where you are in the process. You are welcome to submit a sample drawing too so I can help set up the pagesetup and perhaps recommend settings for your print driver.

I have this problem when I am trying to plot from a pdf. It may be that your plotter does not support that sheet size for whatever reason. Maybe check for an updated driver for it.
