I placed a 2d drafted plan view of a floor plan over a point cloud of the same project to compare/overlay the accuracy My 2d floor plan lines are from physically field measured walls. I want to plot my 2d drawing over the top of the point cloud file using my standard plot style table (pen assignments) Once the visual style changes in model or in a vport, I loose the plot pallette style line colors and thicknesses...ie it's all one big blob. note: i do not use linethincknesses and colors threw ddlmodes (layer properties), they are controlled threw the plot pen assignments on the "plot screen".

I have tried our autocad dealer tech help and tried autocad support case
with plotting out or lines quality ctb in other visual styles in 3d
realistic drawings..eg dimensions on 3d objects o some text etc. I get
nobody who can figure it out.
Considering I draw in cad with simple architectural grphic standards,
(dimensions black and thin, oulines thick, walls shaded etc.) you would
think that autocad would work with drafting standards.
The only way I can get the palette to work is if I explode all my dimension
styles and changespace (moving cad 2d lines) to the layout tab ..thus
becoming not to scale and defeating the purpose of having items editable
along the point file.

HI @mgallina,

I agree that not having this as an option isn't very practical for your type of workflow. Let me try the LAS files tomorrow. If that works then I can make a stronger case for team to give this some attention.

It seems everyone I have talked was surprised that I wanted to print the point cloud. I can certainly see that it might add clarity to your documentation. Again, I appreciate your patience as I work through this problem for you. I might not be able to give an instant answer but I am tenacious and I will do my best to get this feature improved.

Hello,

Has it been resolved?

I am trying to print out a document where I have a point cloud as an underlay with a 2D drawing and text above it.

In the layout area I set up two viewports - one is exactly as above and the other plain 2D drawing without a point cloud.

When I try to print it out to PDF none of the default style works on the viewport with pointcloud. The other viewport prints as per styles.

Thank you,

Jed
