PDF within AutoCAD to edit

Hi,

I do have a PDF with a drawing with text that I have imported to AutoCAD.  Is there anyway to possible edit this PDF displayed in my .dwg file?

@RalphBrown99 If you imported the PDF into AutoCAD, then it is no longer a PDF, the content is inside your DWG file. You can do with it whatever you wish, then PLOT back to PDF to make a new PDF.

If you just attached a PDF, as in you cannot touch anything inside it, then you cannot edit anything in that picture inside AutoCAD. AutoCAD is not a PDF editor. You can draw over it or mask over it to hide stuff, but that is it.

So... which exactly are you asking about?

In short, if the PDF is imported, it can be worked with ACAD commands, but if it is attached, we cannot modify the PDF. Is that correct?

Hey Ralph!

If you are bringing a .PDF into AutoCAD that was originally a .DWG you should be able to do whatever you want with it. The only downside to this is that (I dont think) you can reassossiate the dims to bring them back in as dims. you may have to actually redo all of the dims in the drawing. As far as objects inside the drawing, they will  come in as polylines.

I also think that the fonts created with True Type (TTF) which are Windows native, can be edited in ACAD but fonts created with Shape (SHX) which are CAD fonts will be shown as lines and cannot be edited.
