.PDF to .DXF Import Issue - Corrupted Import

Hello,

I am having trouble converting .PDF to .DXF, I have successfully  managed to do it previously however when I try this time, the imported image is being sectioned into rectangles and jumbled up. The .PDF is of some plans, which were digitised by my local copy shop. So the .PDF was not originally created in AutoCAD however I believe I should still be able to import the .PDF correctly.

I have tried many different combinations of the import options however I receive the same issue.

I have attached the files in the link below, any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at a dead end.

Those PDF's are scans... they will not import the way you want them to.

Can AutoCAD not import them as raster image without jumbling up the file, which then means in a separate layer I can trace over the top?

Or is there any way to convert a raster .PDF to a vector .PDF in AutoCAD?

Hi,

>> Can AutoCAD not import them as raster image without jumbling up the file

Command PDFIMPORT has an option in the dialog/settings for ignoring images/raster data within the PDF or convert it to a PNG and attach it to the dwg-file as image.

In case you have RasterDesign installed (>>>click<<<) then you'll find there some tools for tracing.

Automatic conversion from raster to vector is not available within AutoCAD.

As I said, when I do this the resulting imported image becomes jumbled up into multiple strips not in any particular order. I shall convert to .JPG and import as an image instead.

OK, I can see now the issue.

I would recommend to open your PDF in a PDFViewer, then print from that to a PDF printer (like PDFCreator), that also creates stripes, but at least they are placed in the correct order.

Or, as you already mentioned, convert your original PDF to PNG or similar raster file format.

I have not seen these stripes issues yet, which program created these PDF files?
