PDF to DWG converter - lines problem

Hello all,
I would like to convert a good PDF file into DWG.
I have always done this procedure for many files but recently AUTOCAD is not converting anymore all the lines into the drawings with the correct style but is considering all of them as continuous lines.

I'll enclosed pics showing the original pdf and the imported result on AutoCAD.

Anyone knows if there is a setting I should change to get the right result.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Try to uncheck the option " Infer linetypes from collinear dashes" while converting to PDF. Doing so would make the lines show up as dashed lines but each "DASH" in line would be a separate entity.

Sorry, what you mean by scale settings? because if I check the line style it is properly continuous line.

For other drawings usually, a dashed line is converted into continuous small lines but I can select everyone independently instead here is properly a long continuous line.

Thanks fro helping

Hi @andrea.rolando1

Can you share the PDF, so that we can test it from our end?

Hi @andrea.rolando1

Looks like the problem is with the PDF. Even when I import the PDF I could see that the dashed lines are transformed into continuous lines.

But it works the way you ask when I tried to Reprint the PDF using the "Foxit Reader PDF reader"  or "Microsoft print to PDF" and then import that PDF into the AutoCAD(See attachment) The downside is that dashed lines are imported as hatch.

you have bad source files then: not much you can do about it in AutoCAD sadly.

Hi @vinodkl

I have tried to reprint the file with Microsoft Print to PDF but is not giving me the same result. I have always the same issue. Could you please share with me the settings you are using to print on Microsoft Print to PDF and on AutoCad.

I am using Adobe Reader to print the file, I am not sure if this can influence the process.

Thanks

Hi @vinodkl ,

well if it works for you I don't understand why is not working for me.

I haven't tried with foxid because I don't have it now, and I would like to avoid to download another PDF reader.

But I have tried with Adobe Acrobat X Standard and Adobe Reader DC, and I got always the same result.

I am using the option I shared before to import on AutoCad. In you opinion I should check also the additional options

In case could you share with me what you used

Thanks

Hi @vinodkl ,

I have tried also with Microsoft Edge Browser, and the result is the same unfortunatly.

I guess it's Foxit making the magic.

Otherwise, it's properly my AutoCad the problem, or better the settings ai have on my AutoCad.

Thanks

Hi,

Here are the settings that I used while importing the PDF.

The "options" at the bottom is used to specify the location of the place where the raster images in the PDF are to be stored during the import. There is no raster images in the PDF, so that would do no difference.
