PDF plotting issue

Hello.

Not sure if anyone has ran into this issue, but here's the problem I'm dealing with. I received a PDF file of MEP schedules that was done in autocad. I normally can print PDF's fine, but for some reason this file, I was only able to print one of the pages in the file, where there are currently 3 pages. The plotter I am using is a HP DesignJet T770 and followed their troubleshooting options on HP's website to see if that would help, which didn't. Some of the things I tried was rebooting my computer, rebooting the plotter. Reopening the file. Tried printing the file as an image, check my RAM, which is 16GB, which is more than enough needed. I even had the architect that sent us this pdf, separate the sheets out into their own pdf file and that didn't work either. To see if the file was corrupt and it wasn't able to print at all, I tried to print an 8 1/2x11 page of this pdf to different printer and it printed.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this issue? Or is this an issue for Adobe to help with? **Note: Using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2017 to open up PDF's.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Not sure if this will help but I have run into this issue before........

Plotting out a multiple page PDF where for some reason some pages were BLANK, even though the on-screen PDF showed everything correctly. One of the solutions was to plot the multi-page PDF 'not in background' meaning when the plotting takes place, you will see AutoCAD (in that case) open, print and close each drawing rather than processing the entire thing in the background.

Another option that we used to resolve this was to first print from DWG to DWF, then open the DWF and print to PDF.  As PDFs are notorious for quality issues and other strange things (squashed fonts, inconsistent hatches, blurry or blotchy solid fills, etc.) we use the above workflow, using Autodesk's DWF and PDF default drivers which we have seen success in these issues.

I would suggest trying an alternative PDF viewer/program to plot the drawings.

Get another user in your company to plot the PDFs, to ensure it's not something on your workstation that is unique.

Try to plot the drawings to another printer, even if half size or 'scaled to fit' to see if the same issue repeats.  If so, it could be a PDF issue (corrupt?).

Ask the architect if they just 'split' up the original 3 page PDF into 3 individual PDFs or actually re-plotted each drawing individually.

Anyway, some options that you could look into..... Good Luck!!

I don't think the OP is referring to printing an AutoCAD Drawing with the PDFs attached.

The only thing linking this issue to AutoCAD is that the PDF he received was created from AutoCAD.

So I think he's talking about having trouble printing PDFs to the plotter he has which really has nothing to do with AutoCAD.

The problem could be the Windows driver loaded for this plotter.  The OP should try installing other drivers like Postscript or HPGL2 (if it's an HP device) or even a Universal Driver.

Sorry for the delayed response, but the OS might be the issue, since I will need to replace my current hard drive and reinstall it. But I ended up contacting the MEP directly and had them send the drawing file to plot and that worked just fine.

Hopefully after my OS and new hard drive is installed, this solves any future similar issues such as this. Thanks for the help.
