Patharray lines won't extend

Patharray lines won't extend

I've been following the CAD in Black youtube tutorials and have run into an issue.

When creating a staircase, AutoCAD 2021 (Mac) my Patharray lines won't extend. Click out the following link to view my screen-recording of the issue:

I'm trying to copy this part of the CAD in Black tutorial:

I've tried to do this in Standard and Quick Mode but nothing happens.

Also, does AutoCAD 2021 (Mac) have an Associative Key? The tutorial says to make the array Associative, but I do not have that option in my toolbar.

  1. Click Home tab Modify panel Extend. Find.
  2. Select the objects to serve as boundary edges. Press Enter when you finish selecting the boundary edges.
  3. Select the objects to extend and press Enter a second time when you finish selecting the objects to extend.

Which issue is your problem.

- Explode the array

- start the extend command

- select the horizontal and the vertical boundary line, Enter

- select the lines you want to extend at the side where you want extend. (you can also use a fence)

- done.

The link doesn't work (only for me?). So I can't see what is your problem.

If you want to extend the lines, you must explode the array first (as @parkr4st wrote above).

You can not make an existing array assoziative retroactively. If you need an assoziatve array you must do it while creating the array.

But in this case I don't see what you need assoziativity for.
