Parallel dimensions on a angled line

I'm struggling to dimension line (1) so the dimension is placed like the green dimension (4) (text should be parallel to line. Limitation of Greenshot).

In Solidworks or Fusion 360, all I do is click line (2) and line (3) and assuming they're parallel, I get a dimension parallel to line (1), but in AutoCAD, it doesn't let me select the lines. I have to select the vertices/endpoints (5) and (7), but this produces a dimension at an angle to the line (8).

I can get the dimension of the line by selecting the points at (5) and (6) but then the origin offset is from point (6) and not point (7).

I'm sure this is really simple and is such a given in other CAD packages I've used, I don't even know what to search for 😞

Any pointers will be gratefully received.

This is what DIMROTATED is for.  [You appear to be using DIMALIGNED.]  Read about it in Help.
