PAN issue

In AutoCAD 2017 I have this very annoying issue that when I try to PAN using my scroll wheel button, 9 out 10 times it will open the osnap menu and only rarely it will actually PAN.  Is this a common issue?

Hi,

then your system is thinking that the <SHIFT> or <CTRL> button is pressed (depending on your CUI), check your keyboard (e.g. it's battery if it's wireless, or check it's driver, unplug and plugin).

Alfred,

My mouse does not have the side click option.  Looks like I was mistaken about the osnap menu, it's actually this what comes up:

Hi,

OK, so when you are clicking the middle-mouse-button (without releasing the button) you get this menu, is that correct?

Have you done any changes to the AutoCAD menu or to the mouse driver options?

Yes, that menu opens up when I click and hold the button.  I have not changed anything in my mouse options or AutoCAD menu.

Well, something does not work as expected, which in my first thought means, something was modified.

Can you try:

  • start with a new Windows user account and try AutoCAD + mouse
  • try with a different mouse (different vendor)

Well, i tried logging in as a different user (had to set up another user in Windows first), still gave me the same problem.  then I tried a different mouse and..., it solved the problem!  They are both HP mouses that came with the PC's, guess i'll just stick with this mouse for now.  Still not sure why it started the problem in the first place anyway, I didn't change anything?
