Overkill issues

I am experimented some problems using overkill feature in autocad 2017. Sometime you copy entities one over another in the same layer so you have multiple objects with same properties superposed in the same layer that make your dwg file so heavy so you can manage it properly.

But I am no  able to use overkill, bcz it deletes everything. My porpouse is to delete all the repated objets, lines, polylines but not do delete the original one. I want to delet all repeated objects in one layer with same properties. Its important to emphasize that I dont want to delete objects with different properties ie, diferent line typies, regardless they have the same geometry and they were located in tha same layer.

Please could anyone tell me which options I should mark in the overkill pop up dialog.

Thank you

Hi,

>> what is the diference if I mark the layer option

When the layer(-ignore) option is checked then AutoCAD identifies objects as equal even if the layers of the compared objects are not the same.

Hi Darwin,

Glad it worked for you.

Check the screen cast to know the difference

If you have attached any image in the drawing overkill will not work. Try creating a new file and crtl-copy the elements you are interested to, and PASTEORIG these entities. Execute the OVERKILL command in the new file (it will work) and copy back with PASTEORIG in the old file.  You may lose some dimension alineations.

Wrong again.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
