When I selected F3 or enter OSNAPS to toggle the setting to the off mode, it will still snap to objects. Does anyone know why it does this and how to fix this issue?

Is grid snap (F7) on so you are actually snapping to the grid, not an object?

If that isn't the issue, please attach a screenshot of the Drafting Settings "Snap and Grid" and "Object Snap" dialog boxes and include your drawing.

Hi,

What version of ACAD are you using?

Do you notice if the OSNAP icon appears as on or off?

What do you see in the GUI when you type OSNAP?

What do you see on the command line when you hit F3?

Are you using 3DOSNAP?

When you hit F3 to toggle snaps does the snap icon turn off? I had a similar issue... turns out I had a broken key on my keyboard.

Civil 3d 2018 version. I do not see an icon for osnaps or nothing appears
when I hit F3. 3dosnap options are off.

Hi again,

Too observe the status of several settings at a glance you may choose which to display on the Status Bar.  Take a minute to play around with the Status Bar and it's settings so that you can adjust to your needs and be aware of the various options.

STATUSBAR command = 1 or 0 (on/off)

Right-click a layout tab to see the option to dock the status bar inline with layout tabs.

Select the "Hamburger Button" at lower right of screen to see which status buttons are displayed.  Any status buttons displayed will show blue if on.

Identify position of status bar buttons by checking the on and off to see their position on the bar.  This will lead you to noticing status for the OSNAP icon and 3DOSNAP icon (I expect that you would have no use for 3DOSNAP so ensure that it is not displayed and it is off).  All of these settings can be adjusted by typing the commands as well but my advice is to recognize things at a glance, without sacrificing too much screen space, when possible.

Identify settings for OSNAP and 3DOSNAP.  Make sure that you have a minimum number of OSNAP choices checked.  Choices depend upon your drawing habits but I typically recommend Endpoint, Intersection, Midpoint, Center, Quadrant, and Extension.

Hope this helps,

Blaine

Try setting the system variable "OSMODE" to zero.
