Optimal Monitor size. Wide and Ultrawide

I am using two 24" monitors but I am wondering what the preferred monitor size is in general. Is it 27" or 32"?

What are your thoughts on ultrawide monitors? I am looking at a 49" 21:9 aspect ration monitor.

24" (1920x1200) have quite large points.

27" (2560x1440) is common today but you need to get used to much smaller points than 24" (= all icons would be smaller). 49" is 2x 27". 34" is 1.3x 27".

32" (2560x1440) have slightly larger points than 24"...

I have 2x 32". Love large UI. One monitor for AutoCAD, the second for the second ACAD or another program.

I also use Civil 3D and for that one 32" monitor isn't enough. So I occasionally use 3th 20" monitor (1200x1600) and extend C3D over 2 monitors.

"Preferred" is a matter of personal preference, so expect to get unique responses to your post.

I've used two to three 30" (2560 x 1600) at various points.
I currently use a 43" (3840 x 2160) at home and my work setup is a 30" (2560 x 1600) and two 43" (3840 x 2160) monitors.
My "preferred" setup would be to replace my third (30") monitor with another 43" so they're all the same size.

The only thing that might be problematic for you are the high density monitors, where you have 4k or more in a 27" monitor or smaller size.  Autodesk has made improvements to get the program to work with these monitors, but I don't know if they've worked out all the kinks yet.

I've looked at the Dell 49" monitor and thought it'd be really cool to have, but it had less screen real estate (vertically) than the double 30" monitor setup I was using at that time, and is far less than what I have now.  I wouldn't get anything that has less than 1600 pixels vertically, personally.

Just for fun, I looked at one of my favorite e-shops there is ONE 30" 2560x1600 of 1500 offered monitors. DELL.

But I quite like it, it makes sense, points are much bigger than 27 "...
