When i select multiple drawings in windows explorer then i right click and select "open"

normally autocad opens the drawings in the same order as windows sorted the files.

Since a few days autocad opens the drawings randomly.

Is Autocad already open when you perform this operation?  What happens if you just press enter instead of right click and open?  Do you start with clicking the last file, then hold shift as you select the first file (it used to matter back in the day, not sure if that is still the case, as that is how I always select them now)?  has anything changed with your computer recently?  I know some updates have been rolling out for Windows 10, perhaps windows changed how something works. If you do this from the open dialog inside of autocad, does it still do it?

Hello chriscowgill7373

I select the dwg files window crossing, then i make sure that my pointer is on the first file when i right click to select open.

In the past this always worked fine--> drawings opend in the same order like they are sorted in windows explorer.

When i open drawings with autocad by browsing to the folder there is no problem.

This problem started indeed after windows update, Our IT department has no clue what might be the problem 😞 .

Not sure what Microsoft changed that would make this behavior change.  a lot of things have been getting broken lately because of the Microsoft updates.  this change may require you to change your workflow to get multiple drawings to open in a specified order.

Hi,

just to mention it: my way of opening multiple files is to first start AutoCAD (the correct version, correct vertical and correct language) ... then I drag and drop a file (or multiple) from Windows Explorer into AutoCAD.
