OLE Object / Xref / Binding

I have an OLE Object (image) embedded into file (Drawing A).  I have referenced Drawing A into Drawing B.  I am unable to BIND the referenced Drawing A in Drawing B.  Is this because of the OLE Object?  Any workarounds?

Thanks

1) What does "unable" mean to us: is there a specific error message?
2) As a test, try a different DWG file to bind: did it work or fail?
3) Then try a copy of this DWG file without the OLE. What happens?

What all did you discover?

Detach referenced "A".  Insert "A".

Maybe do a PURGE" between those commands.

@jon :

The quick answer is "yes, but":

  • As noted here, it is possible to embed bitonal (black and white) images in DWG files through the use of AutoCAD Raster design.   Color or gray scale images are not supported.
  • As noted here, the maximum size of embedded images is around 1600x1200 pixels (a total of about 1,920,000 pixels).

Remove the OLE to see if it will bind. If it works, insert the OLE into the base drawing in the appropriate place.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

My suggestion applies to linked images and not embedded OLE objects.   My bad.
