Offsetting polyline

Hi, im just wondering if anyone knows of a way to offset only one side of a rectangle or polyline. Its clearly possible to select only one side of a rectangle by holding ctrl but using offset then still selects the whole rectangle. I don't want to use the explode command every either so if anyone knows of a way to do that id appreciate the advice.

A workaround may be to perform the typical offset

Then run the trim TR command and trim out the unwanted section of the offset rectangle, no need to explode to use the trim command.

Thoughts?

Best Regards

You're right, it's sad that Autodesk never really took advantage of sub entity selecting of light polylines. AFAIK only ERASE command supports this.
